Kegeesh Ommidjagh - Foolish Fortnight First Day Cover

Celebrate the traditional Manx festive season with this official First Day Cover, featuring the six Isle of Man stamps from the Kegeesh Ommidjagh - Foolish Fortnight issue and issued on 20th October 2026.

Created in collaboration with Manx artist Felicity Wood as part of the 2026 Blein ny Gaelgey (Year of the Manx Language), the issue explores the customs and folklore associated with a traditional two-week holiday period. Kegeesh Ommidjagh began around Black Thomas’ Eve on 21st December and continued until Twelfth Night on 6th January, when communities came together for celebrations, music, games and gatherings.

The stamps draw on distinctive traditions including Cammag, Hunt the Wren, the Kissing Bush, Laair Vane, Mollag bands and the Quaaltagh. Felicity Wood’s playful artwork brings these stories together while celebrating the Manx language and the Island’s cultural heritage.

The issue also recognises 90 years of Sight Matters and 150 years of Mothers’ Union, adding further community significance to this festive collection.
Limited to 1,500 covers, this First Day Cover provides a colourful way to commemorate Kegeesh Ommidjagh and celebrate Blein ny Gaelgey in 2026.
