Manx Heritage Transport First Day Cover

The Manx Heritage Transport First Day Cover features all six stamps from the 2026 issue, officially postmarked on 31st July 2026 to mark the release of this commemorative set celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway and 50 years since the nationalisation of the Island’s bus services.

It brings together six designs celebrating the Island’s bus and horse tram heritage, from the world’s oldest horse drawn tramway through to modern Bus Vannin services operating across the Island today.

The stamps feature historic and modern subjects including Leyland PD3A/1, DAF DB250, Mercedes Benz Citaro and key horse tramway scenes from 1876, 1969 and 2026.

The issue reflects the continuity of public transport on the Isle of Man, highlighting how both bus and horse tram services remain central to Island life. It also traces their evolution through nationalisation, modernisation and preservation into the present day.
