The Manx Heritage Transport mint set brings together all six stamps from the 2026 Buses & Horse Trams issue, marking the 150th anniversary of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway and 50 years since the nationalisation of the Island’s bus services. It presents a curated overview of the Island’s bus and horse tram heritage across more than a century of public transport history.
The set features three bus subjects, including the Leyland PD3A/1 (LMN76) representing early National Transport operations, the DAF DB250 (FMN836J) introduced in 2001, and the Mercedes Benz Citaro (No. 254) delivered in 2019 as part of Bus Vannin’s modern fleet.
The remaining three stamps highlight the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway, featuring historic scenes from 1876, a 1969 Promenade service, and tram No. 21 arriving at Derby Castle in 2026, reflecting the continuity of the world’s oldest horse drawn tramway.
Together, the set reflects the evolving story of public transport on the Isle of Man, linking heritage vehicles with modern services and the communities they continue to serve. Designed for collectors and transport enthusiasts, it presents a concise visual record of the Island’s transport evolution.
