Collection Header for the Isle Of Man Arts Council 60th Anniversary Collection

A celebration of 60 years of Manx arts, culture and creativity

Discover the rich story of the Isle of Man’s vibrant artistic
community through this ten stamp collection celebrating six decades of
the Isle of Man Arts Council. This stunning set captures the essence of Manx
creativity; showcasing the works of artists, performers, and musicians who have
shaped the island’s cultural landscape. Each stamp highlights a unique element
of Manx arts, from the grandeur of The Gaiety Theatre to the lively public art
installations that brighten the streets. This is more than a stamp set — it’s a
celebration of artistic legacy and future innovation.

The Isle of Man Arts Council has been a pillar of support for the local arts
scene since its founding in 1965. Over the past 60 years, the Council has
funded and facilitated projects across theatre, dance, music, exhibitions, and
public art, encouraging a strong sense of Manx identity. Key highlights from
this collection include the "Theatre" stamp featuring The Gaiety
Theatre, the "Community Arts" stamp showcasing the beloved carousel
horses at Silverdale, and the "Music" stamp honouring music in all
its forms. Each stamp tells a story of how the Council’s support has touched
every corner of the island’s creative community.

This collection reflects the Council’s ongoing mission to "promote, invest, inspire, enable and champion creativity." It’s a visual tribute to the Isle of Man’s diverse creative spirit, making it a must-have for collectors, art lovers, and those new to the world of philately.

I have collected Manx stamps since Postal Independence in 1973. In all of this time, I have never failed to be amazed at the wide range of subjects covered and by the sheer quality of their designs and presentation.
